About our Energy Efficient Homes
Over the last 10 years Lee has built several homes which have been tested, by Energylogic, as some of the most efficient homes in Northern Colorado. We measure energy efficiency by the HERS index. The Home Energy Rating System (HERS) index is a descending scale from 100 to 0 where 100 is a code minimum home and 0 is a Zero Energy home, producing as much energy as it consumes. With the departure of Built Green from the marketplace, Energy Star appears poised to fill the void. This nationwide, EPA program is already widely recognized in appliances, electronics and lighting. With a current HERS index requirement of 85, Lee’s homes easily exceed this standard.
